I encourage couples to read them.
But I also encourage them to remember that reviews are just one piece of the puzzle.
A review tells you how one couple felt about their wedding. It doesn't tell you whether that DJ is the right fit for *your* wedding.
The same goes for Instagram posts, TikTok videos, and highlight reels. They're snapshots. They can show great moments, but they can't tell the whole story of an entire wedding day or what happened behind the scenes to create those moments.
Use Reviews to Build Your Shortlist
Reviews are a great place to start your search.
They can help you identify experienced professionals, see common themes, and understand what past couples appreciated most.
But don't let your search end there.
Have a Conversation
Once you've narrowed your list, schedule a conversation with each DJ you're seriously considering.
Pay attention to more than pricing and packages.
Ask yourself:
* Do they take the time to understand what's important to us?
* Are they asking thoughtful questions?
* Do they listen, or are they just talking?
* Do we feel confident they'll create the experience we're hoping for?
The best conversations aren't about a DJ explaining everything they offer. They're about learning what's most important to you as a couple.
Every Wedding Is Different
A DJ who was perfect for one wedding may not be the perfect fit for yours.
Every couple has different priorities, different personalities, and a different vision for how they want their day to feel.
That's why choosing your DJ shouldn't come down to review count alone.
It should come down to finding the professional who understands your vision and gives you confidence that they can bring it to life.

Watch the videos.
Ask your venue or planner for recommendations.
Then have real conversations with the DJs you're considering.
The best choice isn't necessarily the DJ with the most reviews—it's the one who truly understands you, your priorities, and the experience you want to create for your family and friends.
