Meet Marty Miz — DJ & MC
When you hire Marty Miz Events, you're hiring me, Marty Miserandino. I'm the DJ and MC you'll plan with, and I'm the person who will be there on your wedding day.
If you've been around the North Shore for a while, you may also know me as DJ Marty Miz. I've been DJing weddings, fundraisers, corporate events, community events, and more for over 20 years, much of that time booking through NuImage Entertainment. Today, DJ Marty Miz is Marty Miz Events.
During those years, I also owned a high-end bicycle shop, Fit Werx 2. But I never stopped DJing. I didn't have to. I kept doing it because I loved it.
A few years ago, I sold the business and decided to go all in on events.
People sometimes ask me why.
The answer is pretty simple. I realized early on that I'm happiest when other people are having fun, feeling connected, or walking away inspired, and somehow I get to be a small part of making that happen. Weddings, especially, let me do that in a way that's personal and meaningful.
To me, it's always been about more than playing music.
I like figuring out what matters most to people and then looking at what's possible. Sometimes it's something we plan ahead of time. Other times it's an opportunity I see in the moment. Either way, I want to recognize those opportunities and know how to make them happen.
That's a big part of what experience means to me. It's not just knowing what song to play next. It's knowing how to read people, anticipate what's coming, adjust when something changes, and help all the pieces come together.
At the end of every event, I find myself thinking about two things.
Did the couple or event organizer walk away feeling like they got the experience they hoped for?
Did I make a genuine connection with the people in the room?
When the answer to both is yes, I know it was a great night.
I'd like to think I'm fun, easy to work with, and someone who genuinely cares about people. The values that matter most to me are contribution, kindness, creativity, and helping people enjoy life a little more. I try to bring those values to every event I'm fortunate enough to be part of.
At the end of the day, I hope people walk away saying,
"Marty really cared about making our day special."
If they say that, I know I've done my job.
