My Experience at The Barn on the Crane Estate

The Barn on the Crane Estate was actually bigger inside than I expected. It has a beautiful rustic feel, with the exposed wood, terra-cotta walls and high open ceiling giving the room a lot of character without feeling dark or cramped.

My most recent wedding there was a fall wedding during a nor’easter, so the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception all had to happen inside the Barn. What impressed me was how well the room handled all three parts of the day. Even with everything happening in one space, it never felt like we were trying to force the room to do something it wasn’t designed for.

I was set up in one corner of the Barn, projecting sound out into the open space. From a DJ and MC standpoint, that worked really well because I could cover the room without being in the middle of everything, and the dance floor still felt connected to the guests once the party got going.

It’s a really nice option if you want the Crane Estate setting but prefer something more relaxed and rustic than the Great House.
