My Experience at Long Hill

Long Hill feels tucked away as soon as you turn off the street. You come up the long driveway, pass the tent, and then arrive at the mansion and gardens, which really sets the tone for the day.

The ceremony can be held either under the tent or out in the garden area. Cocktail hour is typically just outside next to the mansion before guests move into the tent for dinner and dancing. The wedding party is usually introduced from behind the house, which gives the entrance a nice natural flow into the reception.

Inside the tent, I’m set up directly in front of the dance floor, across from the sweetheart table when there is one, with guests seated to my left and right. From a DJ and MC standpoint, I like that setup because I’m right in the middle of the room and can easily reach everyone while keeping the dance floor connected to the rest of the reception.

The property has a classic, elegant feel without being overdone, and the way the mansion, gardens and tent work together gives the whole wedding a really cohesive feel.
