My Experience at the Elks at Bass Rocks / Atlantic Ocean Room

The Atlantic Ocean Room at Bass Rocks is one of those venues where the view is really the first thing you notice. You’re right on the water in Gloucester, and the ocean is basically part of the room.

The ceremony can be held outside overlooking the water, and guests can move upstairs for cocktail hour before coming back into the main reception space. Because the building is split-level and a little different from a traditional ballroom, understanding how the rooms connect makes a difference in how the day flows.

From a DJ and MC standpoint, once everyone comes back into the reception room, the dance floor feels very connected to the rest of the space. The ocean view is still right there, but the room can shift pretty quickly from dinner into a party.

It’s a great fit if you want something that feels very Gloucester and very coastal without being a huge hotel or ballroom.
